Being a wedding photographer I’ve seen so many different venues. Each have their own feel, historical element or story that make them unique. ‘Tis the season for engagements with Christmas and New Years Eve/Day on the horizon so I wanted to piece together some favorite memories at my favorite wedding venues in the area.

1. The Lace House

The Lace House located conveniently in the heart of Downtown Columbia is a one of a kind venue with tons of historical meaning for South Carolina. It features fabulous and unique iron work, brass chandeliers, stunning glass doors and more! The photography here is a dream with tons of character to capture and brings its own elegance and classic style. This is an ideal location for weddings that have out of town guests for several nearby hotel options.

2. Wavering Place

Blending perfectly with modern and classic old South Carolina charm is Wavering Place. This venue is amazing with a lush nature setting but also the classic beauty of a large white house with columns, black shutters and unique feel. This landscape and setting are sure to give you not only the best service planning your wedding but fantastic pictures without even leaving the grounds

3. Tin Roof Farms

This is a very distinctive venue and is certainly one of a kind of the aspect of everything in one place! From the Reception Barn, beautiful yet modern chapel and patio and courtyard this location has everything! The onsite bridal suite and bunkhouse for the groomsman take the guessing out of having everyone on location for pictures, hair, and make up! Located in Saluda, SC it is definitely a little on the outskirts of Columbia but brings country and modern together beautifully. Photography here is easy with the lush setting, beautiful ponds, large oak trees and more!

4. Millstone at Adams Pond

If you are picturing an elegant, southern garden wedding then you have found your place! The Millstone at Adams Pond has a beautiful brick house, enchanting setting with an estate feel. They have great staff, a LARGE patio for your guests to dance the night away under the stars, a beautiful brick with pond setting for the ceremony and a rich setting surrounded by mossy oaks. A quick drive from Downtown Columbia your guests are sure to love this location.

5. Stone River

Stone River is possibly one of the best settings in all of Columbia, SC capturing the beauty of the river and also the detailed skyline of Downtown Columbia. The large stone fireplaces, entire wall of windows to capture the outside beauty indoors and stunning covered patio (for those rainy day surprises) for a ceremony space with a great backdrop you cannot ask for more! The detail brought into this venue is top notch. The large built in bar, natural wood floors and accents are sure to enhance the aesthetic for the vision of your big day!
