He’s here! Perfect Lee was very much prayed for and Whitney and Stephen are smitten with their sweet boy! Truly, natural parents and I couldn’t more proud of them. Lee was so cuddly and chill during his session. We talked about all things newborn while Whitney showed me around their beautiful home.
For the best newborn photos, I recommend doing the shoot no later than two weeks after the baby is born. I’ve found the sweet spot is in that 6-10 days after the baby is born. If you’re looking to book a newborn photoshoot, let your photographer know ASAP. Share your due date so they can plan to be ready that week/the following week to get you on the schedule.
Typically I find that momma and baby are most comfortable at home. At the Christley family shoot, we chatted about everything newborn as they showed me around their beautiful home. We choose to shoot in Lee’s nursery. They put so much thought into the nursery making this session was one of the sweetest and I’ll just never forget it!
I recommend that whatever you where you feel comfortable in! When you book a session or membership with me, I send over a prep email for each session with how to prepare, including outfit guidance! I’ll also include a catalog of my client’s wardrobe for you to look through. If you decide you’d like to borrow a dress or outfit for your babe, it’s included with your session, at no extra price. I just know how hard it is to plan outfits for the whole fam and want to take that stress away for you.
Well, typically there is no need! But, fun(?) fact, I had to go back to the Christley home to re-photograph Lee’s portraits. Somehow, all of those files on my memory card were corrupt but the family photos weren’t. Since I couldn’t save the files, we scheduled a date for me to come back and get those sweet images, and again, Lee was so calm. I can’t wait for our next session together!
Are you ready to schedule your newborn shoot? I can’t wait to photograph you and your baby.

Meet CARLY
I’m a wife and mom of two, which has taught me to notice the in-between moments that matter most — the way your parents tear up during the vows, your best friend adjusting your veil, the quiet touch before you walk down the aisle. These are the moments that become priceless over time. I work with couples who not only value thoughtfully designed details and personal touches throughout their day, but who see their wedding as a celebration of something much bigger — a marriage built on love and friendship. With a calm, candid approach, I capture timeless, film-inspired images so you can be fully present and trust that every meaningful moment is documented.
And I can't wait to get to know you!
