One of the best parts of my job is being welcomed into the home of my clients who have just had a baby. Most of these families I have seen grow from engaged couples, married couples and now parents. This particular session really just hit right in the feels! There is something so special about seeing a family grow, seeing siblings welcome a new baby and love them like they’ve known them forever.

For all sessions I always tell my clients to plan outfits ahead! I am always happy to review these outfit choices with you, go over color combinations and what will look best. Also, if these are in home sessions (since these are easier with kids) have a few spaces in the home you would like to photograph! I know it can be tricky, your home is usually not as clean as you want them to be with a new baby but don’t worry! I have my clients show me the rooms they’d like to photographed in, as well as the one with the BEST light and we will move anything out of the way as needed – please don’t stop snuggling your baby to clean for me! In home sessions are always the best option because everyone is comfortable in their own home. While I am photographing each parent with the baby the other siblings are able to go play, take a break or even grab a snack. Keep everyone in a relaxed mood and get the most genuine photographs!

I always love taking a few minutes to get shots of an empty nursery. Before you know it those rooms are changing to fit a busy toddler before your eyes! I always hope my families remember the calmness and sweet moments they had rocking their newborn in this room.
